Attached to every joint in the body there are muscles, ligaments and tendons, also known as soft tissue. These tissues protect the joints and allow us to move. When motion in a joint is restricted, soft tissue can become irritated and may cause pain. In conjunction with joint mobilization, your doctor may use soft tissue techniques to aid in muscle relaxation, thus reducing pain and improving overall healing.
The main soft tissue techniques used in our office are Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Graston Technique®. If you have a question about any of these techniques, please give our office call.
